Gosford All Blacks - SEND-friendly, family rugby sessions

Gosford All Blacks RFC Youth Section offer a SEND-friendly, family session which runs from 10am-11am on Sundays during term time (September to June). These sessions have been arranged recognizing the need to offer an inclusive and welcoming environment for all abilities. You do not need an official diagnosis to attend and siblings are welcome as well.

Group sessions are centered around providing a safe environment offering games that are based on providing fun, enjoyment and engagement with the focus on making sure everyone can take part to any degree meeting their abilities.

We have a member base that started from 6 that is growing weekly and covers a range of disabilities from Down's Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism and learning difficulties. Gosford All Blacks SEND-friendly, family group cater for all needs and abilities to provide the children with opportunities to grow in confidence, develop social skills, get active and make friends. We will adapt our way of playing and training to meet any need.

The team are led by Darren Rea, our Youth Chair, with other volunteers ranging from individuals that work with SEND pupils, have personal experience with SEND families, children and have over 50+ years of coaching children from age 4 upwards between the core group of 6. The tam is supported with additional volunteers which allows us to try and have a ratio of 1-2-1 for mist sessions resulting in more support and greater development of skills.

We welcome everyone, offering 3 free taster sessions and are continuously working with our parents to have a group of stakeholders that can be invested in the development of this group and improve it going forward.
