Alice Dore

I am an Ofsted registered childminder, living in North Abingdon, our house backs on to Dunmore School Field. I have lived in Abingdon and the surrounding areas all my life so I know the area very well.

I live with my partner and daughter, not forgetting Buddy our 2 year old Labrador. I always knew that working with children and young people would be my forte.I know myself that returning to work and finding childcare that is available but also to a high quality can be very daunting. 

I offer quality childcare in a welcoming home from home environment, a place where I hope both yourself and your child feel valued and welcome. I want families to feel confident to approach me about any needs, issues or concerns. I aim to follow a child led approach to learning; where I support and extend your child’s learning through their individual wants, needs and interests; whilst following the principles of the Early years Foundation Stage (EYFS). I thrive on promoting confidence, resilience and independence; making a solid foundation for school readiness.

We have open spaces for play and a cosy living room for quiet time, a long garden to play with the water toys, slides, swing, playhouse and mud kitchen to name a few. To the side of the house we have a covered area so we can still get some outdoor fun even if it is raining.

We attend local groups and go on outings e.g Farm, Living Rainforest and National trust.
