Didcot Baby Monday

Didcot Baby Monday is a community led peer-support group for parents with young babies.
We hope that you can come along to meet other local parents, share experiences, make new friends, and find support.
As well as being a welcoming social group, we provide evidence-based information and support to help you navigate life with your new baby.
Our trained Breastfeeding Counsellor and Peer-Supporters are always ready to lend a non-judgemental and empathetic ear to anything on your mind. From getting started with breastfeeding to stopping when the time is right for you and any little bumps along the way, as well as using infant formula and bottles, introducing solid food, infant sleep, adjusting to motherhood, returning to work, and choosing/using slings & baby carriers.
We have a comprehensive library of carefully chosen baby and motherhood related books available to borrow, and can signpost to all sorts of reliable, non-commercial online resources.
Follow our Facebook page for updates and details of additional activity and support sessions, such as baby hand & foot print crafts, visiting baby photographer, and postnatal pelvic floor and core function recovery support.
FAQs
When and where are the sessions?
Mondays 10:00-12:00. GWP Southern Community Centre (Sorrel Crescent, OX11 6HQ).
Do I need to book?
No, we are an informal drop-in group. You can arrive and leave at any time during the session - we know getting out of the house with a tiny human can be unpredictable!
What age range is the group aimed at?
Newborn up to pre-crawling babies. This is to keep the group as a low key, safe space for parents to feel comfortable bringing very young babies.
Can I bring my other older children?
If you need feeding support that's fine, however we are not really set up to keep them entertained, so you may want to bring something with you to occupy them.
Can I bring my partner/mum/friend?
Yes, they are very welcome to come along too. We welcome all parents and carers.
Can I attend before my baby has been born?
Yes. We also hold a monthly evening session especially for expectant parents - Bump Club.
Do you run in the school holidays?
Yes, we try to run every week except bank holidays, but this is subject to availability of volunteers so please do check our Facebook page for updates.
Are refreshments provided?
Yes - tea/coffee in lidded cups and delicious cake supplied by our volunteer Joanna of Bless You HOME Kitchen. Decaffeinated and dairy free options are available.
We look forward to welcoming you and your little one to the group.
