Didcot Baby Monday is a community led peer-support group for parents with young babies. We hope that you are able to come and meet other parents, chat, share experiences and find support.

We are partnered with Oxfordshire Breastfeeding Support to provide free infant feeding support from a qualified lactation consultant. Our trained peer supporters are also always ready to lend a well-informed, non-judgemental and empathetic ear to anything that is on your mind, from feeding (of any variety) to sleep, or adjusting to life with a new baby.   We have a comprehensive parenting book library and range of leaflets available.

Clean play-mats and toys for young babies are provided.

Please note we do not currently have a sling library operating.

FAQs

What age range is the group aimed at? Newborn to pre-crawling babies. This is to keep the group as a low key, safe space for parents to feel comfortable bringing very young babies. We are always happy for you to come back and visit if you need support on your breastfeeding journey beyond this period though. We will try to keep your wait to a minimum and our volunteers are happy to help occupy them if we have capacity, but you may want to bring something with you for them to play with.

Do I need to book? No the group is a drop-in session. However if you would like to speak with our lactation consultant booking via OBS is strongly recommended. This can be done at http://www.oxbreastfeedingsupport.org/index.php/services/inperson

Can I bring my other older children? If you need feeding advice it is fine to bring older siblings if necessary, however we are sorry we are not really set up to keep them entertained on a regular basis.

Can I bring my partner/mum/friend? It is fine to bring someone along for support if needed.

Can I attend before my baby has been born? Yes, bumps are more than welcome.

Are refreshments provided? Tea/coffee in lidded cups (decaffeinated and dairy free options available). Biscuits and cake.

We also welcome any donations that you would like to make online at https://uk.gofundme.com/f/didcot-baby-monday

We raise the majority of our funding through applying for grants but this is an ongoing challenge and your donations make a vital contribution to the running of the group.
