Bampton Community Archive Museum

The Bampton Community Archive was created with the aim of collecting and preserving Bampton’s social history, past and present.
Bampton Archive is based in the Vesey Room of the Old Grammar School Building, which some people will recognise because it was used as the ‘Hospital’ in the popular TV series Downton Abbey.
It hosts a number of exhibitions each year and houses an extensive archive with over 2000 photographs and DVD’s all concerning Bampton’s architecture, social history and unique folklore with particular emphasis on Morris dancing.
