Willow Cottage Nursery (Old School Bletchingdon)

Willow Cottage Nursery (Old School Bletchingdon)

The Old School is a splendid building situated in the conservation area of the beautiful village of Bletchingdon (near Kidlington and Bicester).  Set in outstanding south facing grounds of over 2 acres, the Victorian school has been completely renovated to meet the needs of babies and children up to school age.

Each area within the children's accommodation is carefully planned to create an environment most suited to each particular age group.  The Nursery Department is planned to emulate the home situation, and as the children progress through the nursery school, the balance moves gently, but increasingly, towards that of a classroom situation in preparation for school.

The Nursery, Kindergarten and Pre-School Departments are purposefully designed; especially staffed for the appropriate age groups; and are well equipped with stimulating educational toys and games plus a range of small and large equipment to encourage optical physical and educational development.  All our toys are rotated so that the children ar regularly introduced to new and different experiences.  We have wide range of books available for every age and these are changed every four to six weeks.

Our garden facilities for the children are excellent and planned to provide an exciting "outdoor classroom environment" with areas of natural interest, discovery and learning. The children spend much of their time outdoors in all weathers and we also have two qualified Forest School leaders allowing the older children to take part in a variety of Forest School activities.
