Oxfordshire Safeguarding Children Board (OSCB)

The OSCB works with three safeguarding partners as an Executive Group with overall accountability for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in our Oxfordshire.
They work with relevant partners through the Oxfordshire Safeguarding Children Board (OSCB), under the leadership of an Independent Chair. The three safeguarding partners (Executive Group) have agreed on ways to co-ordinate their safeguarding services; act as a strategic leadership group in supporting and engaging others; and implement local and national learning including from serious child safeguarding incidents.
The OSCB is responsible for ensuring that there are suitable policies and procedures in place and monitors the performance of organisations with safeguarding responsibilities. We ensure that appropriate training is provided and influence the development of services to ensure that they safeguard children and young people effectively. We also consult, inform and educate members of the public on relevant topics.
