Little Acorns – May Half Term at The Earth Trust

Fire and Wire family workshop

This half term holiday, come along with your little ones to explore and experience nature in the Earth Lab garden, nestled at the foot of the Wittenham Clumps.

Our half day Little Acorns sessions feature a variety of activities and crafts for children to discover, from weaving and water play to a mud kitchen and minibeast hunts.

Inspired by their surroundings, children can make greetings cards using foraged natural materials.

They’ll have the opportunity to get their hands in the soil too, planting vegetables for our garden allotment or to take home. And we’ll all come together for story time by the fire, where children can toast marshmallows.

After your session has finished, please feel free to enjoy a picnic in the Earth Lab garden.

This is a child-led experience, so our trained tutors will support and guide children, but not direct them to allow each child to lead their own learning while developing their curiosity for nature.
