Would you like to help your child learn to manage their emotions?
The Wellbeing Treehouse will be running the Calm Kids program in Banbury for parents of children with autism. The course teaches parents how to emotion coach their children and is based on the latest research from The Gottman Institute and Dr Dan Siegel. Calm Kids helps parents to be in control without being controlling. Children who are emotion coached do better at school, are better able to make and keep friends, and are more able to calm down when they are upset or angry. This course will consider the emotional needs of children with autism (ASD/ASC) or social communication and interaction difficulties.
What else is included?
You will receive a course manual and be able to join a private Facebook group to access support during the course and after the course has finished. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
Who will run the course?
The course will be run by Alice Brown, a qualified Educational Psychologist, who has over 10 years experience of working with children and families. She has a particular interest in supporting positive mental health and wellbeing.
When will the course run?
The course will run for 6 weeks (with one week off for the early May Bank holiday on May 7), from 9:30 am to 12 pm beginning Monday, April 9 and ending on Monday, May 21.
