Oxfordshire Friends of the Young Deaf Oxfordshire (OFYD)

OFYD welcomes young people between the ages of 14—21 living in Oxfordshire, who have any level of hearing loss: temporary or permanent, speakers or signers, with or without hearing aids and/or cochlear implants. We offer regular events and activities for our members, to have fun and develop confidence by socialising with other deaf young people. Our aim is to create a stronger community of hearing impaired young people in Oxfordshire.

We hold 6 events a year, one every half term, in a different location across Oxfordshire. We look for places with easy public transport connections, and aim to vary this every time, so that anyone can come from across the county. If you have any concerns about transport or getting to events, please get in touch and we will help to make arrangements. We have a range of ideas, including escape rooms, bowling, quiz and games nights, paintballing, theatre and cinema trips, ice skating, laser quest, summer BBQ and a big day out, and we want your ideas too…
