Vale & Downland Museum are delighted to be able to invite families to join us for our exciting summer discovery sessions.
Our summer sessions have been carefully designed to be fun and engaging, whilst also developing children's skills and knowledge as young historians.

History Detectives
Calling all history detectives, we need your help! Join us each fortnight throughout the summer holidays to solve a series of historical mysteries. Learn and put into practice the detective skills of a historian, and use the historical sources in our collection to uncover clues and reveal more about three key historical periods - the prehistoric Ice Age, Anglo Saxons & Vikings and the Victorians.

Week 1 & 2 - A Mammoth Mystery
Week 3 & 4 - An Anglo Saxon Secret
Week 5 & 6 - A Victorian Era Enigma

Each session must be booked separately.

Every Monday & Wednesday 11.15am - 12 noon

Due to social distancing measures we are limited to family groups of a maximum of 4 people, this must include at least one adult.

£5 per child. Adults are free but must book a ticket.

For children aged 7 - 11 years (age ranges are advisory).

These sessions are held outside so please dress accordingly. If it is raining this session will be held indoors.

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
