KIDS is a national charity that works with disabled children, young people and their families. Their vision is a world in which all disabled children and young people realise their aspirations and their right to a community which includes them and their families.

After-school club: Priority will be given to those children and young people 5 to 17 years who attend John Watson School. Children who live out of county will be offered a place as long as a space is available or if funded separately by their LA.  For all other children attending other Oxfordshire schools, places will be allocated if spaces are available.  The after-school club runs from 3- 6pm. The cost is £4.00 per hour.

Our afterschool club provides safe, stimulating and inclusive play outside of normal school hours and during holiday periods. Oxfordshire clubs encourage children and young people to choose their activities, with the emphasis on fun and enjoyment and developing their social skills.  The staff team are highly skilled and experiences in supporting individual needs and we make every effort to ensure children/young people’s needs are met whilst enabling them to be independent.

Notes

The objectives of the service are:

By providing a friendly, caring environment, which balances safety with risk and enables access to stimulating, fun, and well delivered activities the young people have the opportunity to grow in confidence and practice/learn skills that will support them in their transition into adult life.

Through fun and shared experience the young people are enabled to build relationships outside of the home both with other young people and adults.
