Lake Street Nursery (formerly known as Lake Street Playgroup *) provides education and care for 2-4 year olds based on learning through play using the Early Years Foundation Stage. The setting places a strong emphasis on child initiated play and learning through experience. Large space indoors and outdoors, with a strong Key Person system in place.
Lake Street is Registered with Ofsted (EY557982) and received GOOD at the last inspection in November 2021

HOW IT WORKS:
Nursery runs two sessions per day that can be taken in a variety of combinations e.g. just afternoons, just mornings, or full days. Government funding is available for this provision or fees are charged until eligible for funding. We offer 30 hours across the week PLUS ....
IN ADDITION:
Three afternoon extended sessions will be available from September 2022 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday running until 5.15. These longer afternoons can be booked in advance on a termly and ad hoc basis and are fee paying only. They include a light tea.
PALS: Regular baby and toddler group session for families and carers to spend time playing with their children: every Monday afternoom, in term time, 3:00pm - 4.30pm, from September 2022. Currently TAP on Thursdays 3.00-5.00.
* Lake Street Playgroup ran from 1969-2018 as a charity and childcare and education provider. In 2018 the charity changed its legal status from an unincorporated to an incorporated charity, CIO. Due to ths change in legal status the entry with Ofsted for Lake Street Playgroup is marked as ‘closed’ on the Ofsted website.

The settings provides funded places for 2 and 3 and 4 year olds in accordance with the Nursery Education Funding and can take applications in receipt of the 30 hour entitlement.
Please note: our extended afternoon sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are FEE PAYING ONLY and cannot be taken as part of funded places. A child must be attending all day or afternoon to qualify for a place at the extended session
Our fees are reviewed every summer and any alterations to fees will take effect from September each year. We will do our best to keep our public records up to date but please email or call the office to confirm costs if you are interested in a place with us for your child.
