We are Ofsted registered and members of PACEY (Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years). We have full UK driving Licence's and our cars are fully insured for business use.  We are located in the lea park area of thame.

Our setting is a large 3 bedroom, semi detached home. Ofsted Graded Good.

About our Setting: We provide an affordable and professional childminding service in the comfort of a family home for all children aged 0 months plus giving your Hopper the opportunity to enjoy and achieve. We can offer a very good educational structure through play including painting, play dough activities, dressing up, Wet/Sand Play, child's library - accessible all the time, general craft activities and Cooking, meeting the needs of Children of all age groups and abilities.

Our mission is to provide a warm, fun, friendly and relaxed environment where the children can thrive and feel 'part of the family'. In normal Circumstances we take regular walks  and attend many groups dependant on the weather such as: Whizz Kidz indoor play centre, Local Parks, Bucks Goat centre, Tiny sports, Thame Library, Wendover Woods, Tiggy Winkles, Tring Museum, Chatterbox Play Group, Lynx Gym, Waddesdon Manor, Thomley Hall, Feeding the ducks and much more! We will work within our registration requirements and to EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) at all times and to a very high and safe standard.

We celebrate many different cultural festivals and are also able to provide a diet suitable for each child and young person with experisnce with celiac, Dairy, Halal, Egg, Wheat, Gluten & Dairy intolerance.  

A little bit about Trisha (Lead Practitioner): I live in Aylesbury with my Husband, 2 dogs & 2 cats. I have a Daughter and 3 step daughters along with 11 grandchildren. I love anything to do with Motor sport, Craft and live Music. My Hobbies are creating celebration cakes and Sewing. I have been a childminder for 6 years and also work as a supervisor for Action for Children. I am a member of Girl Guiding UK with 21 years experience of working with Children under 14. We are happy to make reasonable adjusts to the setting to accommodate a child with SEN.

We ask for a child to attend the setting for a minimum of 2 full days per week.


If we are looking after your child for a full day where the child attends pre-school for a day or so the amount payable for the time away from the setting is the full hourly/daily rate.


If a child is 3yrs or older and attends the setting before and after pre-school and during holidays only then there is no payment for the time they are at school. It would be £25 per day for wrap around care.

We ask for a minimum of 5 hours. Prices depend on how you pay for your monthly childcare. Please see your contract.


If not under contract it is £10 per hour.


Settling in sessions


Depending on the age of your child they will need to attend settling in / transition sessions. (Please see our settling in policy).


These are anything from 2 hours to a full day and are charged as follows;


Under 5’s

All snacks and meals are extra during settling in sessions


Funded Children


Funded entitlement hours are paid directly to the setting at a lower hourly rate. To you they are free at the point of delivery with no additional hourly ‘top up’ costs due.


Due to the reduced hourly rate paid we will not be providing snacks and meals as part of the daily fees paid. Consumables, Food and outings are charged as follows per full day based on 8am – 6pm.

These are such as toddler groups & soft play. These are charged in arrears depending on which activities we have attended whilst your child is in our care.


They are capped at £6.00 per full week.

Baby Sitting


One of our experienced team will come to your home to care for up to 4 children for £10 per hour subject to availability. For more than 4 children please contact us at




The setting is closed for the first week of the summer holidays along with the week between Christmas and New Year.


You are not charged for any time that the setting has to close I.e. for staff sickness or training and holiday.


If you take holiday we ask that you pay as usual. It is not possible for us to fill a space for such a short time and we have to keep the space available in case your plans change for any reason.


Force Majeure


This fee’s policy will not be voided by riots, civil unrest or commotion, pandemic, Social “lockdown” or strike action. In these circumstances, Little Hoppers Daycare reserve the right to charge the parent a retainer, in the form of a reduced amount of 20% of their normal weekly/monthly fee for the duration of the closure. If parents do not pay the retainer fee, please bare in mind that your child’s space may not be available upon your return.


Ways to pay


We have many different ways that we accept payment (the below do not include funded hours. Please ask for a tailor made package);                      


  • Your amount is calculated per week and then x by 50 weeks a year (we are closed for 2 weeks a year) / by 12 months of the year giving you a fixed monthly payment.


A child who attends 5 days a week pays £1,250.00 per month

A child who attends 3 days a week pays £  750.00 per month


If you have 2 children or more this will be calculated with a £10 per day sibling discount


2 children who attend 5 days a week pay £2,291.00 per month

2 Children who attend 3 days a week pay £1,375.00 per month


  • We accept childcare vouchers. If you cant find us we might not be registered with them as there are many different companies. Please let me know who you use and I will register us.


  • Childcare Choices payment by the government. To find us search; EY453705 HP17 8JP


  • We have 3 funded spaces available per day. A session is a minimum of 5 hours long 8am-1pm or 1pm-6pm or a full day 8am-6pm. These do not include food. This is charged extra along with outings and consumables. If your child requires travel to and from pre-school this will also be charged in addition.


All Charges are subject to change at any time. 30 days written notice will be given in advance of any changes.

The services listed above are all fully adjustable on request. For a package tailored to your specification please ask for more details.


Hoppers of Thame do not offer a Pick-up / Drop off from home service.


If your child attends an after-school club or Scouts etc, please advise and we can put something together subject to staff availability.


We can also pick-up from after school clubs subject to staff availability. Please check with us before booking your place.
