Psychology4Learning: Independent Educational Psychologists

Psychology4Learning: Putting psychology at the heart of learning

Psychology4Learning is an independent educational psychology service serving Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire. Time with our educational psychologists can be purchased by schools, other educational settings and parents.

Our goal is to help children and young people aged 0 to 25 to maximise their learning potential. P4L is an independent educational psychology service, but operating within strict ethical and professional standards. All the psychologists have extensive Local Authority experience, are HCPC registered, have enhanced DBS checks, and private insurance.

Educational Psychology is the branch of psychology concerned with the scientific study of learning how we learn. The psychologists use their training in child psychology and knowledge of child development to assess difficulties children may be having with their learning. They put psychology at the heart of learning, providing advice and training on how schools might help children to learn and develop. They recommend methods, or develop strategies in partnership with schools, to help a child learn more effectively. Strategies may include teaching approaches, improvements to learning environments, advice on curriculum materials and behaviour support.

There are many reasons why someone may be experiencing problems with their learning, and which an Educational Psychologist can help: dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), behaviour, social and emotional development, anxiety, reluctance to go to school, communication difficulties, mental health concerns, etc.

Costs

Details

Educational Psychology services are priced based on time, usually per day. Schools can purchase an annual contract at the start of the academic year, which guarantees a set number of days being delivered over the academic year. Annual contracts take priority with our educational psychologists, and provide the school with the security of knowing they have access to an EP over the year. In addition, schools can order ad hoc days mid year. These days are delivered based on EP availability, so there may be a delay in accessing this service.
