Wantage Air Cadets

Air Cadets

Wantage Air Cadets are part of a national organisation called the Air Training Corps, also known as the Royal Air Force Air Cadets. The Air Cadets are sponsored and supported by the Royal Air Force and has been around since 1941. 1861 (Wantage) Squadron was formed in late December 1941, and is part of Thames Valley Wing, which covers the counties of Oxfordshire and Berkshire with the Wing headquarters located in Abingdon. Thames Valley Wing is in turn, part of the South West Region.

The Air Cadets based in Wantage take part in fantastic and exciting activities like flying, gliding, camping and the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme to name but a few.
