The National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) was founded in 2001 and is the only UK charity specifically devoted to supporting adults and their families living with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and children, young people and their families affected by juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and the health professionals treating RA and JIA.
How can JIA-at-NRAS help? If you are a parent/carer of a child or young person (under16) who has recently been diagnosed and you have more questions than answers, then please get in touch through email or telephone. Our service is free and confidential. We also run an online JIA Parent/Carer group each month to provide peer support for parents, please email jiaparents@nras.org.uk for more information. For the latest updates, new materials and creative events for children and young people across the UK drop us an email jia@nras.org.uk.
We have a number of free information booklets, which can be ordered through our website www.jia.org.uk covering medications for JIA, JIA explained and Managing JIA in Schools, along with articles on our website.
