Who are we and what do we do?
We are a team who specialise in young people's mental health offering help and support to young people who have had experiences in relation to sexual abuse and child sexual exploitation (CSE). These experiences could be causing you some distress or affecting your life in another way but our aim is to always help you deal with your distress and help you take steps forward.
How can you get help from our service?
If you would like to get help from our service, you can ask the following people to contact us:
- Teachers
- GPs
- Social Worker
Any other professional who is supporting you can refer to us.
What's the first step forward?
Where possible an appointment will be offered to you for an assessment in a place that suits you.
The assessment will be done with a qualified member of staff to see what kind of help you need.
The assessment will take about 1 hour and you will also be able to ask any questions or voice any concerns you may have.
After the assessment, a couple of things might happen:
- If it is thought that it would be helpful to you and you agree, then you could be offered treatment by one of the team. This would mean seeing the same team member regularly for an agreed number of appointments.
- If you don't specifically require our service, we will still endeavour to help point you in the right direction and our staff will talk to you about other options available.
