Westmill Wind and Solar Farm Guided Tour

Logo

If you would like to attend one of our public on-site tour days, we ask that you, please, book in advance. This allows us to plan for capacity and guards against turning un-booked visitors away on the day.

We encourage individuals, families and small groups to arrange to join us on one of our special public on-site tour days to the Westmill site. These days take place regularly during the warmer months of the year from April to October, when weather conditions at the site are a little more favourable.

Take your place to learn about how the Westmill Wind Farm & Solar Park became one of the largest community-owned solar farms in the world! Discover how our turbines and solar cells work, learn about renewable energy and hear the eventful history of the site. Then, find out about the installation and energy generation of the five turbines and over twenty-thousand solar panels – which are all owned by the local community.

These tours offers a unique, intimate and understandable perspective on how a wind farm and solar park works, with an expert on hand to guide you along the way!
