Our Nursery classes for three and four year olds provide a perfect entry into school life. To enter Nursery, children must have reached the age of three by 31st August prior to the start of the academic year in which they will become four.
Children starting in September at the age of three will ini ally be o ered Morning or A ernoon sessions, but they can increase their sessions as the year goes on.
Reception Class
Children move from Nursery to Reception in the September following their fourth birthday. Children can also join Sibford School coming straight into Reception Class.
Sibford School offers a flexible approach to starting in Reception class. Children can attend on a part-time basis up until the term after their 5th birthday if parent's wish. However, we do encourage that all children attend school every morning.
Entry Process
Entry process for EYFS is flexible and can be built around the needs of the family. Children applying for a place in Nursery or Reception are invited to attend a short taster session/s to ensure that we are able to meet their needs. Children can join nursery from the September after they turn 3. They can undertake tasters during the preceding summer term but, if they have not yet turned 3, a parent/carer would need to accompany the child at these sessions.
