St John’s Priory School – offering a tradition of academic excellence through a vibrant all round education.

St John’s Priory is a small and friendly co-educational day prep school. Set in the heart of Banbury, the school is easily accessible from Brackley, Bicester, Oxford, Daventry and nearby villages. Recently rated (2017)'Outstanding in all area's' by the Independent Schools Inspectorate.

At St John’s Priory School we believe in developing every child’s skills and qualities in small classes where teachers have the time to recognise and nurture individual skills. We have high expectations for all our children and through positive encouragement and excellent teaching children achieve their full potential both academically and socially. We are proud of our ‘Family First’ approach to education at St John’s Priory and our wrap around care offers flexibility to working parents and a warm and secure environment to our pupils.

The individuality of our pupils is integral to our non-selective and inclusive approach and we strive to provide opportunities for all children to flourish and to develop their individual talents. Whether through music, art, games or academia, there really is something for everyone. In addition, strong links with our local senior independent school; Bloxham School affords our pupils regular access to their extensive grounds and first class sporting facilities.

At St John’s Priory School, our pupils receive a fantastic foundation to their education during their pre-prep years which we build upon as they move through the prep school. As our pupils progress through the prep school, they are prepared, for the transition to their chosen senior schools. One of our core strengths is to support our parents in selecting the right Senior School for their child; and to ensure our pupils are prepared for their entrance examinations and go into these confident in their abilities.
