Sibford School in Oxfordshire is an independent co-educational day and boarding school for children aged from 3-18 (with Early Years nursery & reception). The school is set in more than 50 acres of glorious grounds and is surrounded by beautiful countryside.

Originally established in 1842 as a boarding school for the children of Quaker families, Sibford has, from the outset, been a centre of educational excellence.

  • Our Early Years Foundation Stage, for three to five year olds, provides a perfect entry into school life.
  • The Junior School (for five to 11 year olds) offers children the space to grow and provides them with an unrivalled learning environment where they can develop key skills and benefit from the freedom to explore the natural world.
  • At Senior School we aim to stimulate our pupils with a thirst for life-long learning, offering a broad and balanced curriculum, which reflects our view that while some may have a talent for mathematics, science or history, others may be gifted in the arts, horticulture or sport.
  • Post 16, Sibford Sixth Form offers students a place where they can develop academically, intellectually, personally and socially and where one-to-one support is provided to enable them to become the best they possibly can.

Sibford School provides day places from age 3 - 18 and boarding places from age 11 - 18.

Notes

At Sibford School we believe that each child is talented, each is different and that all are valued. Fundamental to this ethos is a belief in the importance of developing pupils’ enjoyment and excitement about learning.

Students are encouraged to grow in confidence, to broaden their horizons, to demonstrate curiosity and to think independently. Opportunities are provided to help them to discover and explore their own interests and passions and to appreciate the world around them.

All disciplines are equally respected and pupils are taught in small classes where dedicated teachers nurture, inspire and challenge each individual, encouraging them to search, question and find their inner light.

We strive to identify and meet the needs of our most able pupils and provide enrichment and extension activities, both within and beyond the school, to ensure they reach their full potential.

Further to this we also provide specialist support for those pupils who require additional help. We are a dyslexia friendly school with a well-established reputation for assisting pupils with a range of learning requirements. Our emphasis is on inclusion. Pupils who require additional support will follow the mainstream curriculum while benefiting from a wide choice of options to suit their individual requirements.
