Flexicare

Flexicare (Oxford and Abingdon) is a charity that provides a specialist sitting service for children with severe disabilities and their siblings; looking after children whose additional needs make it difficult for their family to find sitters with the necessary skills. We aim to provide a service that is flexible to the requirements of the family - you tell us when you need us, rather than us telling you when we’ll be there.
We serve a geographical area within 8 to 10 miles of Oxford City Centre, plus Wantage and Grove (see our website for an indicative map of our area). Children can be referred up to the age of 12, we then provide a service until they reach 18, providing they continue to fit all our other criteria. We perform a phone assessment with referrers and then visit those we believe meet our criteria to confirm our initial assessment.
Flexicare sits up to 3 times a month, at a time convenient to the family, in their own home, for any reason other than work. Once registered with Flexicare, just give us a call and we arrange a sitter (subject to availability).
