Little Tommy's Nursery (St Thomas More Catholic Primary School)

Little Tommy's Nursery logo

We usually find that children settle quickly into nursery and become familiar with staff, children and the environment. All the staff are here to make sure your child’s transition into nursery is as positive and enjoyable as possible. We will firstly offer you a home visit so your child can spend half an hour with us in a place they are familiar and comfortable. We will show them pictures of Nursery and bring some toys to play with. The Nursery Teacher will complete a questionnaire with parents or carers so they can gather as much information to support a successful transition into Nursery. After this you will be offered a stay and play session with your child so they can explore their new environment with a familiar adult still there if needed. You will then be given a start date. We are able to extend the settling in period to suit your child’s needs in a flexible approach that can increase gradually if needed. If you have booked a full time space we normally arrange that your child attends a half session, either morning or afternoon and subject to this going well your child will continue attending full sessions.

Please contact the school office if you would like any futher information.
