Banbury Phab
Phab’s aim is to promote and encourage people of all abilities to come together on equal terms, to achieve complete inclusion within the wider community. Phab celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2007, having been established in 1957.
Banbury PHAB began in 1981 during the year of the disabled and started life when a parent felt there was nowhere for young people with varying abilities to go to meet new people in a social and inclusive setting. Since then Banbury Phab has grown in numbers and transformed to meet the needs of current members. The present club coordinator has been with the club for 25 years having started with the club as a volunteer driver then taking on the role as paid Coordinator for 22 years. Due to recent cuts in local government, this paid role was taken away, however due to his love of the club we are pleased to say that he has stayed on in the role as a volunteer. In addition to the coordinator, the club is run by volunteers and volunteer committee members.
