Jack and Jill Pre-School

We are an OUTSTANDING early years provider.  The pre-school is run by parents through a a CIO. The CIO consists of a Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer.  We also have a friends of preschool fundraising team

The CIO employs the staff, who are responsible for all the children in their care and the day-to-day activities. The help and support of parents is essential to ensure not only the continuing success of the pre-school, but indeed its very existence.

OFSTED registration

We are registered by OFSTED to offer early years education for up to 36 children daily. We have 3 rooms; the BeeHive and Dragon fly rooms can accomodate up to 10 children aged between 2 and 4, and the Butterfly room can accomodate up to 24 children, aged between 2 and 4.

We were recently inspected on 21st June 2021 and we recived OUTSTANDING accorss all areas. A copy of the Certificate of Registration is displayed on the notice board.

We are also a member of the Pre-school Learning Alliance, a voluntary body that is registered as an educational charity, and the Pre-School has adopted its constitution.

Staff

One Pre-School Manager, an Administrator, Room Leaders and the necessary number of early years practitioners are employed by the committee and give a high adult to child ratio at each session.

Jack and Jill Pre-school is an equal opportunities employer. Each member of staff and each committee member is checked by the disclosure and barring service. Any new members of staff, while waiting for police checks to be completed are never left unsupervised with any child.

All staff undertake appropriate training to update their skills and underpin their knowledge and understanding of the needs of the pre-school.
