I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder and a qualified Early Years Teacher. I have taught in local Abingdon schools and primary schools in London.

Qualifications & training: BA Early Childhood Studies, Paediatric First Aid, Childminding & the EYFS, Generalist Safeguarding, Designated Lead Safeguarding/Food Hygiene Level 2, Forest Childcare leader.

I have 3 children (9, 6, 3), when not at pre-school my youngest will be with me whilst I care for your child.  We have lots of fun together during our days whilst the eldest children are at school. I provide Forest Childcare trips, in which 2 days of the week, we spend the morning in a local forest, wood or outdoor environment, learning and having fun in the great outdoors! We also go to a variety of baby and toddler groups in Abingdon (pre-covid). We walk to the local playgrounds and feed the ducks at the park and have a picnic style snack time. Sometimes we go to the library to read books or for Rhyme Time. We take trips away from Abingdon such as Millets Farm, Nature Tots at Sutton Courtenay Environmental Centre, Gymnastics stay & play sessions or toddler groups in surrounding villages to occupy our mornings. We have lunch at home, followed by nap or quiet time before heading out again on the school run. Usually we are back home by 4pm.

I have a warm and welcoming home with a large, clean and inviting space where I will care for your child. There is direct access to the outdoors for free-flow play, this area has a gazebo so we can use the outdoors in all weather and use the outdoors as much as possible to keep Covid safe there is also a variety of resources for all the different ages & stages. My home is near OLA school in Abingdon.

Past teaching/childcare roles: I have worked as a part-time nanny & babysitter in various London locations such as Notting Hill, Chelsea and Knightsbridge. My part-time nanny role required me to look after a 2 year old during the day and then his siblings in the evening, I undertook this role for for 2 years.

I have Qualified Teacher Status and over 7 years classroom experience.  I have worked with children from the ages of 4 to 7, from Reception through to Year 2.  I also have the experience of having my own 3 children!

I am CRB checked, I have Public Liability Insurance & my car is insured for Business to enable me to transport your child.

Notes

I have a 4 bedroom house which is only a short distance from the centre of Abingdon and only a 5/10 minute walk to most of the local toddler groups/library/leisure centre.

I have a bright and airy open plan kitchen/living area which has been set up and organised into the 7 areas of learning.  All resources are easily accessible for the children and there is plenty of space for the children to play without it being too crowded.

There is direct access to the garden, which has decking and a grassed area.

As I have my own children, I have already ensured that my home is safe for children.  I believe my setting is a warm and inviting space, hopefully a home from home environment for your child.
