Health visitors are qualified nurses or midwives with additional specialist training in public health. We work with all families in Oxfordshire from pregnancy to starting school.. We lead the Healthy Child Programme, alongside our teams of community staff nurses, community nursery nurses and administrators. We support parents to give their child the best start in life. We build on a family’s strengths and when needed connect families to the right support in order to prevent problems or spot them early. We work together with parents to find solutions. As well as working on a one to one basis with families, we also provide a range of health promotion groups and support groups for parents emotional health and wellbeing. We see families at home, in a clinic/community setting or digitally. We work with other agencies such as GPs, midwives, school health nurses, early years settings, community groups, and social care services
