Other notes

Timely access to an experienced child and adolescent psychiatrist to help you and your child get things back on track.

We have created a cosy private consulting room where a young person or whole family can be seen comfortably. There is also a cafe open on weekdays where you can have a drink or snack while waiting.

Our initial assessment appointments are for an hour to enable a full discussion of the child’s strengths and difficulties and their background and life story. This enables a discussion about the nature of the difficulties and possible solutions. Some families may chose at that point to go and use self help resources or to wait for NHS services, others may choose to proceed to treatment at our clinic.

Treatment will be provided in 30 minute follow up appointments and will consist of talking treatment or prescribed medication or a combination of both.

Cancellation charge

We will try to be as flexible as possible with regards to requests to reschedule appointments. Regrettably, should you cancel your appointment with less than 2 full working days notice the full fee will be charged.

Private prescriptions

We do not charge any additional fees for the provision of private prescriptions. However, the pharmacy will charge a fee for dispensing the medication. As an example a thirty day private prescription of 30 sertraline 50 mg tablets is approx £7 on private prescription A thirty day private prescription of concerta XL 36mg  is approx £55 on private prescription

Urgent Care

We are only able to see patients by arrangement in Bloxham and cannot offer urgent advice, as our phones and email are not always manned. In a crisis young people and families are advised to call NHS 111 or attend A&E
