Cherwell Canoe Club
Canoe Slalom, polo, touring (inland), general recreation. Qualified instructors and competition coaches. Activities centre on Wood Green Leisure Centre/ and also Banbury reservoir (Summer only). We aim to provide enjoyment for novice and experienced kayakers and canoeists of all ages. Beginners can enrol on one of our structured novice courses which take place over the summer.
Want to get out on the water? We organise trips from gentle paddles, to more extreme whitewater, sea kayaking and kayak surfing. Destinations include the Avon, Thames weirs, white water in North Wales and Dartmoor and surf breaks in the South West, and trips on the sea on the South Coast, Anglesey, and even Scotland.
Competitive? Team Spirited? Try Canoe Polo - The fastest growing canoeing discipline in the UK and worldwide. Polo combines paddling and ball handling skills within an exciting contact team game. We have open, youth and ladies players that play in teams at all levels in the UK Regional and National Leagues, from beginners in Division 4 right up to our A-Team who compete at the highest level: National Division 1, as well as players who represent our country playing for the GB national teams.
A 'River Bank' Paddler? Maybe you could get involved by learning some coaching skills, or lending a hand at club Barbeques, Skittles or Social Evenings.
