Holiday Activity and Food Programme (HAF): Information for Families

Oxfordshire County Council has been awarded funding from the Department for Education to deliver a Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme in 2022, as part of a national scheme. 

The programme provides organised holiday activities for children who are in Reception-Year 11 and who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals. The aim of the programme is to support the physical and mental health and wellbeing of children and young people, encouraging them to engage in interactive and fun activities and provide them with access to a healthy meal.


Who can take part

The programme will offer free holiday activities to school-aged children, who have started Reception- Year 11, who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals. The holiday activities will take place in the 2022 Spring/Easter holidays.

What is available

Children and young people attending sessions will be able to enjoy quality holiday activities and a healthy meal at each session they attend.

Holiday sessions will run for:

  • at least four hours each day
  • four days over the Spring/Easter Holidays

You can choose and book free HAF activity sessions from a selection that will be on offer. You will be asked to input a code when booking - for benefits-related free school meal children and young people, below are contact details if you would like to find out if you are eligible.

You can book individual days based on your circumstance- it is not necessary to attend all sessions for one activity.
